If I could meet anyone...

If I could meet anyone in the entire world dead or alive I would meet Jake Owen.  I went to his concert Friday, it was amazing!  The best concert iv'e ever been too!!  One day I will meet him.  I love his songs, they are so inspirational and motivating.  Country singers are the best.  If I ever meet him I would want him to sing "Alone with you" to me, it's one of my favorites.  Jake Owen is also very attractive.  Anyways, I love Jake Owen.  I hope one day I can be his future wife, if anything happens to the one he has now.

March is reading month.

March is reading month!  My favorite children's book was "You Are Special."  This is my favorite children's book because it was a gift from Mrs.Isley my first grade teacher.  It is about a doll who didn't think he was very special, but indeed he was.  Its a great kids story because it can relate to almost every little kid, because in every little kid's life they don't feel like there as special as others but they are.  When I was little my mom used to read to me all the time and in school all the teachers in elementary would read to us too, I really enjoyed it.


I think most teenagers today don't like to read because there lazy. I am not one of those teenagers because I do enjoy reading.  I don't like all books but I like series books and I like to keep reading them.  I don't like the books we usually get for assignments there just not for everyone.  I'm not sure what it would take to get teenagers interested in reading again, maybe less technology would do the trick, but that's not going to happen.  Teenagers are more interested in playing video games all night instead of reading before bed.

My Pet Peeve

I have many pet peeves.  One of my biggest pet peeves is when we're in class and someone will ask the teacher a stupid question that they already know or something that doesn't relate at all because they think there funny.  I hate people like this.  It annoys the crap out of me because it happens in my classes and I am in high school, it gets a little old after about 10 years of school with the same kids doing the same thing since they were little.  I just get so mad and tell them to shut up or I just sit there and think really?
Also another pet peeve is when people have heard other people say your name right and spell it right but they still don't get it right.  For example people spell my name wrong all the time, and I get that it happens, I do it sometimes as well.  But when they like post on my Facebook wall and my name is right there when they do it spelled right, and they get it wrong...it bothers me.  I don't even finish reading the post when this happens.
But those are just two of my biggest pet peeves I could go on and on forever. 

Friends

What do you look for in a friend in you ask?  I look for certain qualities in a person.  I look for trust, honesty, and just in there a fun person to be around.  One can have many friends with no limits.  The more the friends the merrier. What really makes a best friend is having someone that knows everything about you and someone that knows how to cheer you up when your down.  A best friend is someone who understands you even when you don't say anything.  A best friend will always be there for you and will never turn their back.  You can't really have hundreds of "friends" on facebook.  You could have hundreds of "aqaintences" on facebook like most are on facebook.  But to be a "friend" you have to talk frequently and hang out outside of of school and offline.  There not all really "friends" on facebook.

Open Shutter

This week in my exploring technology class we worked with open shutter.  Here are a few of my examples that me and my partner took.

 This picture was taken at an 8 second shutter speed.  I took a light up Christmas candle and wrote in the air while my partner took the picture.  This picture turned out very well and is my favorite one.

This picture was taken at a 5 second shutter speed.  I drew a heart in the air as my partner took a picture, the shutter speed may have been to long to take because I had to sit there for a while and wait for it to finish but it turned out great.

For this picture we took a string of Christmas lights and just waved them all around in the air.  This picture was taken at a 4 second shutter speed.  The colors all mixed together and you can see where they went and what colors were in the string.  This is a great example of open shutter speed because it captures the movement and colors.

Another Homecoming.

This year we tried something new, instead of each class decorating their hallway we made "mini floats".  During Fall Homecoming we build floats on a trailer so for Winter Homecoming (since it's inside and not outside) we made "floats" on a wagon.  I thought it was okay, I didn't really like the hallway decorating either but the shopomore class did get first place!  This years pep assembly wasn't as fun, it hasn't been as good the past couple years because we don't have winter chearleading anymore so there isn't much to do.  Usually theres a class game for each grade but there wasn't this year.  I did not vote for the person that one, but if I got to vote twice I would have voted for the king that won.  Also during homecoming week we have dress up days and it counts as spirit war points for whatever class has the higher percentege; I dressed up four days out of the five which was good.  The only day I didn't dress up for was hat day because I don't really like hats.  Well that was my Winter Homecoming 2012.

Valentines Day

Valentine's Day.  I do believe that card and candy industries have blown this out of proportion.  I don't think it is important to have this holiday it shouldn't even be a holiday.  You should appreciate you "special" one every day not just on one certain holiday, so every day should be like Valentine's Day.  And if you don't have someone special on Valentine's Day do something special for yourself; example, go out to dinner with friends who are single, get your nails done, anything.  Valentine's Day is one big joke.
In elementary I remember getting Valentine's Day Cards from all my classmates and teachers and having snacks in the classroom that everyone brought in and shared.  Also it made everyone feel special not just a certain group of people.

Willies Videos

Willi Scott is a sophomore at Sand Creek Community Schools.  He is a very smart and tall kid.  He makes the funniest videos on earth though; you should check him out.  Go to YouTube and type in WScottis1 and you will see all of his videos from his Kalahari trip to his New York trip and even a video on his birthday!  You get to see all of Willie's greatest moments in life.  He posts a new video about once a week so I watch them every week, I'm always looking forward to what he puts on next...you never know what Willi will put next!

Willi loves comments so if you go on and watch them leave him a positive comment, it will make him very happy and he deserves it!

Photography

I would say I have a pretty good level of photography.  I've had a camera and took pictures since I was about eight years old.  I understand the basic concepts of photography but I still have a lot to learn.  From this unit I am expecting to learn how to get more in detail of how to take a better quality image in every light and how to make adjustments to take a better quality photo in the camera without having to edit.

Exam Week

The first time I took exams was this week.  I think I did okay but not as good as some people.  I believe that exams should not be mandatory for students to take with three or less absences because some people, like me, are not test takers and having one test be worth 20% of your grade is a little bit ridiculous.  Exams are good practice but not every one in high school is college bound.  My exams were comprehensive I guess.  I did take a lot of time to study though, some classes more than others but I at least took no less than an hour and a half on each subject.
